“I had a friend considering abortion so I sent her to your web site. She called me around two in the morning, crying. It changed her mind. Thanks so much!” -- Anne

Dear Sustaining Partner,

Anne’s friend is just one of the many whom you have helped.

Your support is saving lives and spreading the good news about post-abortion healing.

Consider this: in 2011 alone, our web sites had over 10 million hits. In addition, hundreds of churches, post-abortion ministries, pro-life groups, and pregnancy centers have distributed or broadcast our outreach materials. Not just in the United States, but worldwide.

None of this would have been possible without your help and the help of people like you.

Only God knows how many lives have been saved. But we know He is using our work to do so.

Also, only God knows how many souls have been saved. But we know that the message that there is hope, healing, and mercy in Christ is helping to do just that.

The number of women and men attending post-abortion ministries is constantly growing. And there is even increasing coverage of post-abortion issues in the news and entertainment industry. All signs of a cultural shift.

God’s grace is flowing. Together we are succeeding in creating a more healing environment where post-abortion grief is accepted and women and men are more willing to seek and get the help they need.

You are the key to this success.

God doesn’t write checks. But I truly treat every donation we receive, large or small, as a blessing from God.

I’m still thankful to you, personally, of course. But I also know that everything good comes from God, including our friends and Sustaining Partners.

Every donation we receive is due to God putting money into your hands, compassion into your heart, and discernment into your will. The result brings us together in this shared ministry where we work as one body in Christ. It is only in Him and through Him that we are able to expose the fullness of truth about abortion.

I know you “get it.”  Just like Ellen, who just sent us this note:

Although I am now severely disabled and my only form of income is SSI, I found it an imperative to donate what little bit that I can to your organization. I know that every little bit combined with other people’s little bit will add up to the necessary resources to continue this fight. In this awful time of diminished social conscience, we need your honesty and your persistence of shining the light on the devastation that abortion creates in the lives of everyone.

Thank you, Ellen!

And my thanks to you as you take this time to read our most important fund raising letter of the year.

Together, we have accomplished what no one thought possible.

Between 1970 and 1996, many pro-life scholars had come to believe it was impossible to publish research about the negative effects of abortion in any major peer reviewed journal. Their experience was that good studies were being rejected. Editors were unfairly demanding a much higher standard for studies critical of abortion than they were for studies favorable to abortion.

So, it was up to us to achieve this higher standard.

Because people like you believed in and partnered with us, we succeeded.

In fact, our prospective studies -- with control groups and pre-pregnancy control variables -- raised the bar for everyone. Now, it is the abortion providers who are scrambling to catch up.

In a recent literature review published by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, 11 out of the 34 studies meeting their strict criteria for inclusion were ours.

Plus, we’ve recently submitted two new studies for publication that will raise the bar again.

With your help, we’ve managed this and many more accomplishments on an annual budget of less than $120,000 per year. That’s chicken feed compared to what Planned Parenthood, the Alan Guttmacher Institute, John Hopkins University and others are spending to “prove” that abortion benefits women.

But that “chicken feed” comes from people of faith like you and Ellen. That makes it more than just money. These gifts are a sign of faith and trust coupled with prayers. God is blessing all of the small gifts to confound the mighty with a widow’s mite.

Our most powerful asset is not our bank account. It is God’s grace, and your prayers, patience, and perseverance.

Reaching Out With a Message of Hope

Your support does more than just fund our research. It also helps us to develop some of the most powerful outreach tools being used by post-abortion ministries and churches today.

Our radio, television, billboards and display ads, developed with your support, are used by ministries and individuals around the world, to spread a message of compassion and hope.

Because of your support, Jen’s life was transformed:

I can only say thank you. You are my best friends; you have saved my life. You have helped my three children to gradually get their mum back. I felt completely lost and I didn't want to live anymore. But you are just great ...

And Kay was given hope:

I just had to write to thank you so much for doing this advertising campaign. I truly wish this had been around when I had my abortions many years ago. I am just sitting here crying thinking ... if only. … It may be too late for me, but I know with all my heart you will reach many, many women. This is so necessary and life saving. Thank you again.

Your support is helping individuals, like Kay and Jen and her children. But it is also, through God’s grace, transforming our culture.

Each year, tens of thousands of hearts and souls which were previously broken by the culture of death are being reborn. Their numbers are growing. Their voices are being heard. Their friends and families are being transformed.

Through their emotional and spiritual healing, the culture of life will inevitably prevail.

It is your support that has made all of this possible. And it is my prayer that you will continue to be a partner in this great work, especially now.

This is our most important fund raising letter of the year.

Historically, our first fundraising letter of the year is the most important.

To have a successful year, we need to raise $60,000, half of our annual budget, within the next three months.

People like you are the backbone of our ministry.

All of research, publications, and educational materials were supported by only 386 donating partners during this last year. And last year, we came up short by $9,100 dollars.

If you donated in the last 12 months, can we count on you again?

If you did not, would you please renew your partnership in our work this year?

Your contribution of $30, $300, or $3,000 will make a huge difference.

To support this year’s research, education, and outreach efforts, we need 5 patrons who can donate $5,000 or more, 20 Sustaining Partners who can donate $100 per month, 50 Sustaining Partners who can donate $50 per month, and 100 Sustaining Partners who can donate an average of $30 per month. Plus, we need another 100 Supporting Partners making one-time donations.

Even if you cannot make a donation now, would you at least send in your pledge card?

You are making a difference. We, and our work, are totally dependent on people like you who generously partner with us in this ministry.

Please know that we feel truly blessed by your trust and support. Beyond that, we are convinced that through this blessed partnership, God is saving untold lives and souls.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this year’s sustaining partner appeal. You, your family, and your special intentions are in our prayers. Please keep us in your prayers as well.

Sincerely yours for Life in Christ,

David C. Reardon, Ph.D.

Director

P.S. Please respond today, before you are distracted by all of your other daily business and family obligations.

Your help today will help us to document the truth ... to tell the truth ... to help women harmed or threatened by abortion ... and to proclaim Christ’s mercy. Thank you for being our partner in this great ministry!
