From TheUnChoice.com -- an evidence-based Elliot Institute campaign to raise awareness about unwanted abortions, post-abortion issues and maternal deaths, plus help, hope and healing. ... The UnChoice. Unwanted. Unsafe. Unfair.

2013 Planning Calendar:

Events, Opportunities and Supporting Evidence-Based, Pro-Woman/Pro-Life Resources

Update your outreach with the "big picture" evidence of abortion's abuses, exploitation and risk to the rights and lives of both the unborn and women, and many others. Incorporate these and other pro-woman/pro-life messages into your education and outreach plans this year and next.

The Elliot Institute documents, distills and shares evidence of abortion's exploitation, abuses and harm, including unwanted abortions, post-traumatic stress and maternal deaths. Our research is published in medical journals and used in America's courtrooms, classrooms and congressional halls, plus other influential arenas.

Use our downloadable resources to change hearts, minds, lives and laws; to stop people from pushing or tolerating abortion; and to save lives -- including mothers and families at risk -- while exposing fundamental lies upon which much of public support for abortion is based.

Highlights of Upcoming Opportunities: Rally resources for January right-to-life events and outreach (or plan ahead for Mother's Day or October Signature Ads and other resources); legislative session political and lobbying resources; and April Church Awareness Project during Coerced Abortion Awareness Week. (Learn more about these projects below.)

January/October 40th Anniversary Right-to-Life Events
Share pro-woman/pro-life 40th Anniversary Signature Ads, other 40th Anniversary ads and educational materials, plus rally signs, hats and other apparel (to wear at rallies or anytime) from our Message Shop. Update the debate and challenge "pro-choice" premises during this tragic 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This is a great time to educate people about the irony of unwanted, coerced and forced abortions -- evidence that exposes abortion's abuse of women's rights and renders "pro-choice" rhetoric meaningless. (See the main calendar for links to these resources.)

2013: Legislator Education and Legislative Opportunities
Challenge "pro-choice" politicians with evidence that 1) it's not about choice, and 2) it's exploiting, injuring, traumatizing and killing women, too. Our What Every American Needs to Know message summarizes this evidence. It is available on postcards or flyers, including some with space to add
your local message. Share the Forced Abortion in America fact sheets, flyers or 22-page report, too.

Current legislative initiatives from the Elliot Institute include laws to hold abortionists accountable, including failing to screen for coercion, and an ad hoc committee petition to Congress for hearings by Women Pregnant by Sexual Assault (WPSA) -- also important for educating leaders about "hard cases" issues. (Join or support these courageous women speaking out against abortion and LIKE or share our WPSA Facebook page, too.)

School Education, Lesson-Planning and Outreach Opportunities
Teach, inspire and reach out to youth; warn parents about the risks to their teens; donate books to school libraries; and share other research and resources in lesson plans, civic outreach, and more.

You'll find well-cited, user-friendly and evidence-based information at TheUnChoice.com (user-friendly general education and outreach), AfterAbortion.org (the Elliot Institute's primary site), AbortionRisks.org, (a wiki-style clearinghouse of available information) and legislative initiatives against forced abortion to use in essays, speech contests, lesson planning, youth group and civic activities, social outreach, and more. You may also want to use, share or donate to libraries a copy of Detrimental Effects of Abortion -- a comprehensive reference book exposing abortion's negative impact -- or other books on related topics.

April: Annual Church Awareness Project and Coerced Abortion Awareness Week
Our 3rd Annual Coerced Abortion Awareness Week (coming up in April) is part of the Elliot Institute's Church Awareness Project. Sign up for our  free email list to join the outreach, and download materials and ideas from our blog. Share your ideas and results on our blog, and plan ahead to share The Jericho Plan and plan other events in your church.

May: Mother's Day Education and Outreach Share a pro-woman/pro-life Mother's Day Ad, Flyer, Bulletin Insert or Poster. Use it as a flyer, poster in print, as a hand-out, bulletin insert or online message. Share it on blogs and in social media. Include it in existing pro-life Mother's Day efforts. Consider running a Signature Ad, too, before or on Mother's Day. You'll save lives, hearts and souls ... often two at a time.

June: Father's Day Education and Outreach Share our Father's Day ad, which can be used as an ad, flyer, poster, handout, bulletin insert, etc. Share information about Men and abortion and bring hope to men directly or indirectly affected by abortion, including those who may have also lost a daughter, sister or friend to pregnancy or abortion-related issues.

Anytime: Suicide and Abortion Awareness, Prevention, Help, Hope and Healing -- Share urgent information about coerced, unwanted abortions, post-traumatic stress and post-abortion suicide risk among teens and women of all ages. Tell parents and the public. Share information from our Suicide page, Teens at Risk page and Men, Abortion and Suicide article. See our sample PR tips and tools for more ideas and resources.

2013: 40th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, 25th Anniversary of the Elliot Institute -- This year marks the 40th anniversary of abortion-on-demand in America. The lives lost -- including babies and mothers -- have reached unfathomable proportions. But the tide is turning as we expose the truth of abortion's abuse and devastation to everyone involved.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the Elliot Institute. For 25 years, our research, education and outreach have documented and shed light on abortion's unthinkable legacy and impact, providing new evidence and impetus to change course.

This is a good time to use our "40 Years Too Long" Signature Ad or regular ad/flyers. These and other resources help expose the general public -- including leaders and policy-makers -- to the reality of abortion's abuses, risks, realities and aftermath. We also ask you to donate if you can, if you find our work and resources helpful.

Check our events calendar for more ideas and links to these and other projects. The calendar also features links to appropriate resources for education and outreach. Use this helpful planning tool to supplement or expand your existing events and activities.

Help Support Valuable Research, Education and Outreach

The UnChoice Campaign is an evidence-based, pro-woman/pro-life education and outreach project of the Elliot Institute. The Elliot Institute's peer-reviewed academic research and other expertise and information is used in  legal, judicial, legislative, medical, social services and other policy-making arenas to document abortion's exploitation, injury and heartbreak to the rights and lives of both the unborn and mothers.

Our information and materials are also helpful in immediate deterrence of abortions and saving lives of unborn children and mothers, while also encouraging individuals and leaders to rethink their assumptions about abortion.

Due to the urgency and potential of this message, we invite you to use our downloadable resources (including many of those above) free of charge. However, we rely on the support of our donors. If you are able to make a donation, however small, it will support and speed this work.
