Instructions for Using GoodSearch.com
Help the Elliot Institute every time you go online!
Here's an easy, practically painless way that you can help us raise money every time you go online.
GoodSearch.com is a search engine (powered by Yahoo) that gives money to charities each time someone uses it to do an online search. You can use it the same way you would Google, Yahoo or any other search engine; the difference is, if you designate the Elliot Institute as your chosen charity, we will earn money for each online search you conduct.
Shop through Good Shop at more than 1,000 online stores and the Elliot Institute will earn a percentage of each purchase you make. You'll also find coupons for discounts, free shipping and more at many sites.

To make GoodSearch your search engine |
To designate the Elliot Institute as your charity, and do searches with GoodSearch:
1. Go to www.GoodSearch.com
2. Under "Who do you GoodSearch for?" type in "Elliot Institute" and click "Verify." "Elliot Institute, Springfield, IL" should appear as your designated charity (see below). Any searches from GoodSearch.com will then help raise money for the Elliot Institute.
Note: If you clear cookies or empty the cache on your browser, you may need to re-designate the Elliot Institute as your charity, as GoodSearch might not keep this information after you do this. So make sure the Elliot Institute is still listed as your designated charity.
3. To make GoodSearch the default search engine in your browser's search box, and/or download a toolbar to make future searches and shopping easier. To do so, go to GoodSearch.com and click on "Get the Good Search toolbar or add us to your search box."
To add GoodSearch to your browser's search box:
If you are using Internet Explorer, click on "IE Plugin."
If you are using Firefox, click on "Firefox Plugin."
Follow the instructions to make GoodSearch your default for searches.

To download the toolbar: click "Download toolbar" and follow the instructions to add a toolbar with shopping buttons and other tools to your Firefox or Internet Explorer browser (note: make sure you have already designated the Elliot Institute as your charity in order to get a customized toolbar.
For shopping, we suggest downloading the GoodSearch toolbar. This means you don't have to visit GoodShop before going to the store,* and the toolbar will also highlight what percentage of your purchase will go to the Elliot Institute and if any coupons are available.
* Note: A handful of merchants still require that you visit GoodShop first and click through to the store. This will be apparent because the donation button will not light up. For Amazon and eBay, you can simply click on the icon on the toolbar to get to the sites.

You can see how much you are helping us earn by clicking on the "Amount Raised" button under our name at www.GoodSearch.com. It may take several weeks for money earned through online shopping to show up in the tally.
