What
is a co-op ad and how is it helpful?
Co-op versions have space to add your own message. For
example, you can promote a local event, organization or
outreach; information about local counseling or outreach
services; or the name and logo of a corporate or group
sponsor.
You can publicize local resources, groups or events, while
also educating the public. Or, you can defray the cost of advertising by
sharing it with another group, individual or corporate sponsor who gains
visibility and public-service value by helping women, children and families
and giving back to the community.
Most display ads are available in a
co-op version. (Co-op posters
too), as well as black-and-white, color, quarter-page and 8.5x11 ad formats.
Click on the co-op link near each print
display ad.)
◄ The
sample ad to the left shows the small
boxed-in area at the bottom of the ad where you can put your message.
Versioning is restricted to the boxed area.
* See Terms of Use & Type
Specifications below.
There are several ways to imprint your information on the ad. For example:
ü
Ask the
media's advertising department. Graphic designers at the printing or ad
department of the publication, site or station where you advertise can
insert the text you provide, following our simple Type
Specifications
below. Most advertisers will do this free of charge, others may
charge a small fee.
ü
Ask a graphic
designer, printer or quick-print shop to add the text. Simply download
the ads and burn them onto a CD or email the files. Your artist or vendor
can then access the downloaded pdf and add your text.
ü
Do it yourself. Use your own
word processing program and printer. Or, for internal or informal uses, such
as hand-outs, bulletin boards or newsletters, print the ad from the pdf, cut
and paste your text, and then photocopy or scan it.
ü
Make handouts. You can also scan a
regular ad onto legal-size paper and type your own information at the bottom
to use as a handout or flyer.
Here
are some examples of uses for co-op ads:
► Promote details about your
local event, such as a speaker or a video that you show.
► Promote your
organization and its services.
► Call attention to a local resource
centers for pregnancy or post-abortion assistance from private, public or
civic and church groups.
►
Add the name or logo of an individual, organization or
business willing to sponsor the ad.
Versioning is restricted to this boxed-in area at the
bottom and limited to the co-op text requirements below.
Please keep messages informational, such as date, time,
event or speaker details, or the logo of a corporate or
civic sponsor.
See below for
technical/text specs.
